Door pulls have asserted themselves over the past decade as a design feature on timber, PVC, metal and glass doors. Older stylings of tubular material have been in use, with straight, cranked, semi-circular and triangular forms being the most common.

In the early 1990s, FSB concluded that it was again time for some fresh ideas. The company’s design and development department was commissioned to experiment with new manufacturing methods and new material sections.

They introduced several pulls using elliptical or oval cross sections. Because an ellipse fits a closed hand more comfortably than other shapes, they make an ideal form for anything a hand grips. The ellipse is also tilted 45 degrees away from the door to easily meet the trajectory of a hand.
